SilverPig in a SilverPorker
Just got married on the 1st of july, and as present my wife had arranged for me to enjoy a spanking new 997 Carrera 4S for a weekend! She's a good girl...
And what a weekend this has been!!! 1300 km of pure fun! I can't remember having driven anything else like it...including Ferrari 550 Maranello, Lambo Gallardo and Porker 996. Even the classic 911 Turbo from back then in the mid 80's seems a much tamer car than this. And at the same time...while whipping it through sharp bends and turns and making 0-100 out of red lights in under 5 seconds, even with 6 speed manual transmission, the missus would have NO problems whatsoever driving the kids to kindergarden every morning, if we would have hade kids that is. Now what other car can do that?! My lottery ticket has been handed in...

Is it a building?
Or a plane? Or what the heck is this huge carbonfibre thing? Since it's mounted on the rear of a Mitsubishi Evo VIII, it has to be a coffee table of some kind, for quick snacks by the road. This "table" can easily seat 12 people...it's absolutely HUGE!

I've been out playing again...
OK, it's japanese...it's even a Mitsubishi...and it's full of plastic trim (except the rear wing, which actually is made of carbon)! But it was loads of fun to drive, and very VERY fast! Yeeeah!!

Got air?
To adjust the rear shock absorbers, you simply fill them with air, or let air out, through a valve under the rear bumper. As you fill 'em up, the car gets a familiar ass up stance! The two absorbers are connected with a hose, and the air is distributed evenly between them. Strange concept...

Cruising
Since there has been very little progress with my 67 these days, I spent the last sunny day we had out cruising with my friend Marius in his recently US-imported Super Beetle Convertible. The car has only been driven 19.000 miles since it was new in 1979, and the driving experience is absolutely fantastic! Now where did I put my sunglasses...?
